Mezzanine Equipment Platforms
We manufacture equipment platforms for a wide variety of applications. Our equipment platforms are custom designed for your particular requirement, taking into consideration the size, weight, and configuration of your equipment. We can design equipment platforms to handle heavy concentrated loads. Whereas a mezzanine designed for storage or to support an in-plant building is designed to support evenly distributed loads, an equipment platform is designed to support the concentrated load of your equipment.
Equipment platforms are used to support processing equipment, generators, and air conditioning equipment. For outdoor applications, the platform can be galvanized. Our platforms are a nut and bolt design so they can be easily shipped and erected at your site.
Mezzanines to support your equipment frees up space on the floor that can be used for production or storage. Equipment platforms and mezzanines manufactured by Mezzanines By Design systems are designed for your particular application and constructed of structural steel. Certified drawings with engineer’s stamp can be provided for all 50 states. Equipment platforms are manufactured to meet the last applicable IBC standards.
We offer several stairway options, from a straight stairway to “L” and “U” shaped stairways with one or more landings. This lets you best utilize your available space with minimum obstructions in your warehouse floor. Stairways can be installed on a side of the platform or under the mezzanine with an opening directly to the mezzanine floor. A variety of loading gate options are available:
- hinged gate
- sliding gate
- “safety gate”
in which your workers are never exposed to the mezzanine edge without guardrail. Handrail is installed on any perimeter that is not against a wall. The handrail is 42” high with a mid-rail and 4” kick plate. Flooring options include:
- plywood (plain or laminated) over corrugated steel
- bar grating
- solid steel tread plate
